W. Russel Gray Obituary (1934 - 2016) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

W. Russel passed away on October 4th, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Renc) and devoted father of the late Jennifer Wales and the late Peter Gray. He passed peacefully at his home with his wife by his side. Russ was born in Conshohocken, PA. He held degrees from Princeton, Pennsylvania and Temple universities. He taught English at Delaware County Community College from its inception. Russ was one of the original members of the Popular Culture Society. He was often asked to lecture at other institutions as an advocate of the detective fiction as an American genre of literature. He and Dorothy lived in Swarthmore for 31 years. Services and Interment were held privately.
