Terry Heenan
July 24, 1946 – June 29, 2025
Terry Heenan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away at home on June 29, 2025.
Born on July 24, 1946, Terry was the cherished son of the late Tom and Helen (Frank) Heenan. He was a proud graduate of North Catholic High School, Class of 1964.
Terry built a life filled with dedication, adventure, and love. For 27 years, he owned and operated Heenan’s Variety Store in Port Richmond, where he was a staple of the community. After retiring from the store, he found joy in working at the Pennsauken Golf Club—combining his love of golf with the camaraderie of dear friends and coworkers. The bonds he formed there were truly unbreakable. He retired from the club in 2021 following a leukemia diagnosis.
Terry lived life to the fullest. Always eager for adventure and mastering new skills, he earned his pilot’s license and then pursued scuba diving. He was an avid skier and shared his passion by teaching children at Shawnee Mountain. He took on sky diving, joined a roller hockey league where he played amongst former Stanley Cup Champs, and even learned stained glass making.
Above all, Terry was a family man. He was the devoted husband of Mary Anne (Cole) for 46 wonderful years. He was a loving father to Lisa (John), Christopher (Megan), Patrick (Jackie), and the late Terry Jr. (Dori). He was an adoring “Pop” to Sean, Colin, Johnny, Reilly, and Lucy, and a proud great-grandfather to Milo. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment with them.
Terry is survived by his sister, Maryellen (O’Donell), many nieces and nephews, and is predeceased by his siblings Tom, Jim, Bob, Chalie, Billy “Reds,”and Kathy.
Terry's humor (King of the Bad Dad Jokes,) and adventurous spirit touched everyone he met. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
