Sean Michael Cotter

January 18, 1991 - June 18, 2024

Sean Cotter passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024, after a battle with cancer.

A lifelong resident of Philadelphia, Sean was an extrovert who made friends wherever he went. He was brought great joy from his job as assistant manager at Dunkin Donuts, especially serving his regular customers, and his previous work as a groundskeeper at Six Flags Great Adventure

Sean was a sweet soul with a passion for animals. Cats, dogs and ducks he loved the most. In his free time Sean enjoyed coin collecting, watching anime, learning about British history, making music, singing and dancing. He played the violin, keyboard, baritone horn, trumpet and clarinet.

He loved the color green, especially emerald green, the stone he loved most. To his closest friends and online he was known as Emerald Prince.

He is survived by: his fiance, Robert Schmidt; his parents Joan Estelle Williamson Cotter and Joseph W. Cotter III; his brother Joseph Schmeltzer (Christine Gebeline Schmeltzer), nieces and nephew Emily, Joseph, Cassidy and Carly Schmeltzer; his uncles James Williamson (Eileen), Joseph Williamson (Kathy Hinnegan DiClementi), and Jerry Williamson (Patricia Coyle-Williamson); his aunt Mary Roadarmel (Ronald Roadarmel); and his Dunkin family.

A memorial service will be held for Sean on Saturday, June 29 from 10am - 12pm at the Reilly-Rakowski Funeral Home, 2632-34 E Allegheny Ave, Philadelphia. It is requested (but not required) that guests wear green.

Donations in his name can be made to the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) or the National Wildlife Federation.
