Regina Hogan

–

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

To start a ripple effect in a body of water, you simply need one point to start it. A gentle
poke with a stick can create a continuing effect…

Regina K. Hogan, known as “Genes” or “G”, was anything but a quiet beginning of a
ripple. Born in Sept 17, 1947 to John and Claire Hogan, she came into the world as a
force to be reckoned with. Not a start to a ripple effect, but a full blown cannonball. Full
of passion and spitfire, she only knew how to do anything one way. BIG and BOLD.

Whether it was throwing a party, or remembering (every) mailman’s name, everyone’s story was a big deal to Regina. Along with her legendary soirees, her passion extended to philanthropy, most exemplified in her generous donations to LaSalle where she truly believed students were gaining their best life experiences and education.

She loved her community as fiercely as she loved her family. Later in her life as she
gained a grandson, she didn’t hesitate to leave her life in Naples, Florida and settle
back in PA near family, friends, and the places she knew so intimately. She had mostly
worked as an X-ray technician. But later in her career she dedicated her time to help the
elderly, showing that her care and love knew no bounds.

Golf, cooking, and reading were her favorite ways to pass the time but nothing
compared to her joy while singing silly songs and laughing with her children who survive
her, Jeff and Steph Huntzinger as well as her beloved grandson Sam (aka gooniebird,
skidamarink, cabbage and many MANY other nicknames).

Please help us celebrate the life of our “Go big or go home” Regina K. Hogan by being
mindful and present of the people surrounding you. Her flame may be extinguished on
earth but her fire lives on to lead us and remind us to enjoy our lives. Smile at that
stranger, give a kid a high five, tell that corny joke. Remember to laugh.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Friday January 23rd 11:00 AM till 12 NOON at the Malloy Funeral Home 625 Byberry Rd. Phila., PA 19116.
