Lilly McBride

–

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The spirit of Lilly Jude McBride, 41, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, left this earth suddenly for parts unknown on August 12th, 2025.

Lilly was born in the middle of a blizzard on January 18th, 1984, in Bristol, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Bucks County and graduated from Wyncote Academy. Lilly went on to work for her father at his business, ActionPak. She taught her partners and friends more than they ever expected to learn about the packaging industry! More recently, Lilly was participating in a welding program at Bucks County Community College and was eagerly anticipating going to work as a CNC machinist. She adored her professors and classmates and was excited about her education.

For many years, Lilly was an active member of multiple alternative communities in Philadelphia, for which she had immense passion. She was a loving, social, extroverted soul who thrived on human connection, and she treasured the relationships she formed in these communities. Lilly was also devoted to activism for marginalized groups and did a great deal of volunteer work. She will be remembered for her razor sharp wit, her amazingly strong hugs, and the acts of service she did for others. She was an exemplary friend, partner, and human being; if you were loved by her, you knew it. The world is a little bit colder today without Lilly in it. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

Lilly leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Renee McBride; brother, Evan McBride; sister, Jessica McBride; partners, Alena Kearney and Sarah Stone; and her miniature dachshund, Max. She was preceded in death by her father, John McBride, Jr.

A celebration of Lilly’s kickass life will be held on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025, at 12:30pm (Reilly-Rakowski Funeral Home, 2632-34 E. Allegheny Ave, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19134). In lieu of flowers, her family and partners ask that you consider making a donation in her name to the American Diabetes Association; the Philadelphia Red Umbrella Alliance; or Prevention Point Philadelphia.

Rest in power, Lilly. “Hail the traveler.”
