Leo J Hesser passed peacefully on May 3, 2023 at the age of 95. He was married to Mary Jane McCafferty in 1960, she pre-deceased him in 2003. He leaves behind two children Leo Jr and Lisa (Jack) as well as five grandchildren Sam, Abi, Jack, Max and Nick. He was an adventurer his whole life, and there was nothing he couldn’t fix. He was an auto mechanic in his father’s business in South Philadelphia, and went on to get his teaching degree and teach at Mastbaum Tech. Along the way he went to Palm Beach and became a police officer and was also a Wildwood, New Jersey police officer for several seasons. He was the dad who would round up all the kids in the neighborhood, put them in the back of the station wagon, and take them to the Phillies game or first KISS concert!! He loved to drive and some of our best memories are our month-long adventures to Florida and back. He had a great love for the beach and the ocean and designed and built a home for his family there creating many wonderful memories. Leo was most proud of his service to the 11th Airborne in World War II. \n\nHis family was the center of his world, and we will miss him more than he could ever know.\n\nRelatives and friends are invited to his visitation Saturday May 13th 11:00 AM at the Malloy Funeral Home 625 Byberry Rd. Phila., PA 19116. Memorial Service 1:00 PM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
