Edward "Jim" passed away on January 26, 2025 at the age of 84. Husband of 47 years to Clara J. (nee Christiansen). Loving Dad of Deanna McHenry (Robert) and James Tatar . Pop of Robert III, Connor and Ryan. Son of the late Catherine and Edward Tatar. Brother of Virginia O'Shaughessy (the late William) and the late Ethel Golden.

Jim had a larger than life personality and would give you the shirt off his back. Many that knew him would tell you he would do anything for anyone to help them out. He was proud & loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle & all around family man. He was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School and remained Falcon proud. Along with his career as a truck driver, he was a man of many talents. Following in his father’s footsteps, he served as President, Vice-President and Stewart of the Windthorst Literary Association. He also was a member and drummer for Greater Kensington String Band as well as a friend and supporter of all the string bands. He served as a Director of the Philadelphia String Band Association and was inducted into the PSBA Hall of Fame in 2011 & the Philadelphia New Year’s Shooters & Mummer’s Association Hall of Fame that same year.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Saturday February 1, 2025 9:30 AM at Nativity BVM Church 2535 E. Allegheny Ave. Phila., PA 19134. Funeral Service 11:30 AM. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers donations to Disabled American Veterans 5000 Wissahickon Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19144.
