Millsboro, Delaware
Donna Marie Rodgers, born to eternal life on November 14, 2025, was a woman of profound faith and tireless devotion to her family and community. Born in Norristown, PA, on November 13, 1954, and raised in the Somerton section of Philadelphia, Donna's life was a testament to the grace of God's love, which she embodied through her work as a devoted wife, loving mother, and dedicated nurse practitioner.
Donna earned a Masters Degree in Nursing from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia and dedicated her professional life to healthcare, serving her patients with a kindness and compassion that was rooted in her deep Catholic faith. After her retirement in 2020, she dedicated her free time to serving her community, most notably as a member of the Society of St. Vincent De Paul through her parish, Mary Mother of Peace in Millsboro, Delaware. Her service and commitment to her faith were further evidenced by her involvement in the Plantation Lakes Book Club, where she shared her love of literature and learning with her fellow neighbors. As Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." Donna truly let the light of her faith guide her in both her personal and professional life.
Donna is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Paul Rodgers; her sons Timothy (Alisha) Rodgers and Matthew (Joy) Rodgers; her mother, Joan Braun; siblings Joanne (Wayne) Lewis, Michael (Christine) Braun and Robert Braun; her grandchildren Brayden, Brynn, Olivia, Beckham, and Andrew Rodgers; She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Braun. Donna is also survived by her beloved dogs Max and Russell . Donna's life was a testament to the power of faith, the importance of family, and the joy of service to others. As we remember Donna, we are reminded of the words of Matthew 25:23: "Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much.
