Constantine Christidis

–

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

It is with profound gratitude and hearts full of tender memories that we celebrate the life of Constantine "Dean" Christidis. He was born December 1939 in Piraeus Greece and peacefully passed away on October 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was a fantastic father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Known to many as Papou or Dino, he was a charismatic man with a tremendous work ethic, was full of spirit and drive, and had a wonderful heart. Dean's love for his family was his life's most defining quality.

Dean met the love of his life, Rose (nee Alampi), while serving as the purser on the T.S.S Olympia cruise ship or what we called the "Love Boat". In 1968 he immigrated to the United States, married Rose, and made Philadelphia his home. The two were married for 55 years and were blessed with four children and ten grandchildren, all of whom were the center of Dean's world. He was a stalwart figure in the food service industry, pouring his heart and soul into his work until he retired in 2014. His hobbies included making pizza, tending bar, and swimming in the ocean. Dean treasured the moments spent with his loved ones above anything else.

Dean was predeceased by his parents, his brother, eldest sister, and his beloved wife Rose. He is survived by his sister Evangelia Karacosta (Paul), his children Tina Scanlan (Philip), Christos Christidis (Stacey), Ayn Gimblet (Andrew), and Patricia Campbell (Ed), ten grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication that will forever echo in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday October 24 th 10:00 AM at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 7921 Old York Rd. Elkins Park, PA 19027. Memorial Mass 11:00 AM. Interment Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery.

We invite you to share your memories and upload photos of Dean to the memorial page. Each shared memory or photo is a testament to Dean's wonderful life and will help us all remember the man who meant so much to so many.
